wondering how mille lacs was over the weekend. fished last week and the gravel was real hot, as were some of the flats. coming up again on thursday and was wondering if anything has changed. hope all have a good 4th and good week

My wife and I were on Mille Lacs on Sunday 7/2. We were fishing in 30 feet of water on the north side of 5 mile reef. I thought the fish were biting pretty well. We were out between 12:00 and 3:00 PM and boated seven nice fish (we kept three). We just played the wind using rigs. Leeches on an eight foot leader with a few red or green beads above the hook did the trick.

I fished saturday evening and sunday morning and did pretty well. 7 fish over 20" with the biggest being 25". We fished mainly Big Flat and Shermans Flat and caught fish on both. We did find the bigger fish to be off the deeper edge of the flats as i caught the 25"er in 35' on the east side of Shermans. Lindys with a 10' snell and crawlers with a shot of air did the trick for us..along with 2 red beads.
