Mark if they are the units that are right on the ice they are sitill being made if they are the ones that were on a pole that have a wire that held the pole then you can make yourself put a coat hanger on a dowel bend it so that it will hold a jig pole then leave enough wire on the back so that you can put a coffee can lid on the back hanging down from a mono line with a snap swivel.I now use a cd kind of cute LOL the wind catches the cd and moves the pole. I put a little bobber up so that you can see it set the drag real light and when a fish his the bobber goes down set the hook I learned it in Appleton dont know if thats fwhat your looking for Jim

Thats not it, but interesting set-up you described anyhow. The one I,m talking about has a sliding weight to adjust/trigger flag. Also is made from wood. Thanks.

The tipups your looking for are the "new and improved" version of the old umbrella stave tipups. They are easy to make yourself. Take a look for someone using them when you are on the lake. The commercial ones were called "Wind Jammers" if I remember correctly. I saw some "Wind Jammers" at an auction recently that went for about half of what we payed for them ten years ago.
