Mille Lacs May-flies

I'm going up to Mille Lacs this weekend and was wondering if there were still millions of may-flies lurking around. Please help, looking for any suggestions for catching walleyes when the may-flies are out there.

I was up there last weekend and the only time we saw them was at night. They swarmed the headlights. But there must be a few hatching because a few of the walleyes i caught were spitting up a yellow slime that you see when they are feeding on the mayflies. Fishing was pretty good...lindys and nightcrawlers or spinners and leeches worked good.

Was up on Tuesday. There were some may flies on the water, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I've seen it. I think the worst is yet to come!

I was on the northern flats dragging rigs with leeches and did pretty well, with fish from 14" to 28". The past few weeks it was kinda tough finding fish in the slot (all too large) but last time up about every other fish was in the 16" to 17" range (yummy!)
