Has anyone bought and/or used the new Abu Garcia EON reel? It looks and sounds really interesting in the catalog.

I have not used one yet, but I did look at/handle one the other day at Gander Mountain. Very smooth and light. Feels really good in the hand. I would also like to hear from anyone who has bought one and used it.

Huh??? Not sure I caught the jist of your remark? Are you saying that this is a good reel and the company is better or are you saying that we are not aware of this reel's nuance?

I meant it has been 4600/5600/6600 for as long as I can remember. Of course, I can't remember as long as I use to.

While the reels you listed have stood the test of time and are still great reels, Abu Garcia has many good products beyond the ones you listed. They have some other great casting and spinning reels and have had for years, and have introduced many more good reels in the last few years. But, I get a good deal on their products so my opinion might be "tainted."
