After recieving a couple of Emails asking me this question and inquiry's as to my lack of response in the "other" thread regarding this matter, hear is what I KNOW.
First, in a personal duscussion with Tom at Riverside Marine and our direct representative at Triton Boats we know at this time that Triton Boats has NOT BEEN SOLD. Actually some things are in the works that are very exciting for the company, it's growth, it's customers and potential customers.
Secondly, in the third quarter sales results recently published, Triton Boats was again the #1 selling glass bass boat, followed by Nitro and THEN Ranger. It seems like the rumors DO come the last couple of years in ragards to something with Triton right about boat show time. Anything that might involve or create some customer insecurity, I'm sure in hopes of bringing the customer to an "older" name in the business. I'm not pointing any fingers, but I have personally seen the false reports from last year and have copies of the documantation that denotes those reports as false. One involved one of these companies publishing a false report as to resale value that was denounced by the company that they supposedly quoted and another was a boat that SUPPOSEDLY was sunk at a boat show. All DOCUMENTED AS FALSE AND MIS-LEADING, and since retracted.
As far as this particular rumor, you can't automaticly blame the guy who brought it to this board. This rumor was circulated outside this board and was more then likely overheard. Having many years of indepth knowledge as to the inner workings of things of this nature within the fishing and tackle business, nothing surprises me.
Lastly. I have written documentation as to what I have claimed here in this post. These things are not my opinion, they are fact. If I had posted my opinion as to this type of bull&*^%, I would have been in the same boat as Captain Doug. I might have used a bit more tact, I might not have.
