Hi guys,
I've read a few post lately about success with ReefRunners. Since I am a crankbait junkie I have lots of them in about every color. I love trolling cranks but havn't found the confidence to stick with ReefRunners, and not dig out the Wally Divers or Shad Raps. What are the best situations for ReefRunners, and are you flat lining them or pulling them behind boards? Thank you for any help.

We run behind boards, both in-line and full size. They are a load for the in-lines but can be fished even at summer speeds. Reef Runners are tricky to tune properly, but once you get em dialed in they are great. Pay close attention to that aspect and I think your results will improve. Also you might try the Deep Little Rippers if you haven't. They are closer to the Shad rap size. Good luck

One thing that may throw you when tuning a Reefrunner is they don't run like a Shad Rap or Walleye Diver. Instead I would compare them to a Hot n Tot. They pull hard and have what I refer to as a "beating pattern", sort of a suttle back and forth action. Great cranks. At the right speed you can get these baby's down to over 30' with 10lb test Fireline. They run best a low to medium speeds, at high speeds they can get pretty wild and will tangle the rest of your lines in a short order. Try some ripsticks if you have a need for speed, they track very well at higher speeds.

If you are looking for a small profile crank that runs deep and tru give the Walleye Demon a try. It is made by Pradco and looks like a small willow cat. It has a fin on the top. It is about the size of a #5 shad rap and dives 20' no problem. Big thing is that it runs true out of the box.

I love the little rips also.
