Trolled West of Rattlesnake. Waves were a little rough, 3 to 4 feet. We got two limits plus a few perch. Walleye are stacked in the area roughly four miles West of the islands. We trolled dipsy divers and scorpion spoons. Again today, confusion was the flavor of choice, with any other with brass backing worked about as well. Walleye were suspended around 22 feet. Ran the dipsys as follows; 1 ½ setting was back 45 feet, 2 ½ setting was back 60 feet and 3 ½ stetting was back 70 feet.

Denied, I have not had any luck running dipsey with Stingers. What is your leader length? Any other suggestions? How about trolling speed? Thanks.

Scott, I run a 6 foot leader and only use Michigan Stinger, scorpion spoons. Trolling speed is between 2.5 and 3 mph. You might look at the helpful hints page at my web site listed below for additional tips.

Scott,
Michigan Stinger spoons have been one of our best "baits" trolled behind both Dipseys and Jet Divers for the last couple years. We use both the regular Stinger size and the small "scorpion" size. One thing that MAY be hurting you is if you are using too heavy of a snap/snap swivel on your leader connecting to the spoon. These spoons are light and too heavy terminal hardware may be killing the action? Keep trying them - THEY WORK!
Good Luck,
Steve

Freebyrd and Denied, Thanks for the info. I will continue to experiment and use the Stinger Scorpions as dictated by need.
