If they keep this up Lake Erie will become a Cesspool again & it has lost much of it's wetlands already .. read below:

I might add that the lost of wetlands along Erie & it's feeder streams is one of the prime reasons for the dirty lake water after storms along with the silt dredgin' & Island buildin' that goes on off the mouths of the major feeder streams that dump into Erie .. That we pay for with our tax dollars (ACI).

aah the doubble edged sword!
a large quantity of the wetland habitat lost in the L.E. watershed is the result of dredging for the marinas and harbors we fishermen need and use!!
Can't have our cake and eat it too!
Wise use needs to be used and practiced by all, it is our responsibility. thanks for the great eye opening post

Don't you love it when developers say "trust us, we can police ourselves".

only the start

Isn't this the same group and by the same vote that gave the presidency to Mr Bush? The decline of the environment has begun.

Nope

Thanks cmb .. Your Correct - "Wise use needs to be used and practiced by all".

I don't care which Political Party it is, But be Active & Voice your concern ASAP, if you notice what you think to be unwise uses of "Our" Resources .. & then use you Vote as Wisely as possible in our imperfect, but best in the World System! Just don't let your Political Views "Sink the Ship"!

Looks like you're only reading what you want to. I read in it that it will still control any wetlands that drain into navigable waters. My main gripe in this is what-ever happened to property rights? If I own my own land, pay all the bills and taxes, what gives someone else the right to tell me what I can do with it? Dan Marker

Dan .. No, I'm mostly looking at the Big Picture - Large scale Developments, Road Construction & etc. I believe in Property Owners Rights, as long as I'm not effecting others beyond my Property-lines (above, beyond & below) .. Look at the mess we've had in Ohio this year .. Mega Chicken Farms w/stream pollution & Fly infestations, Burning Tire Dumps, Waste Dumps all over the State & more being found every week & the list goes on .. Geez, even the Ohio EPA is in Dutch with the Federal EPA for being to Lax! I'm not Right or Left on Politics. I just believe in Common Sense in taking care of our Resources & Land for our short usage of it while we are here .. then, hopefully our Gkids can enjoy what we've enjoyed in our Lifetimes. If the Almighty Dollar rules over Common Sense/Proper Stewardship of the Land, then I guess we need tighter Laws to stop Stubbornness & Greed.
