I am headed to Lake Vermilion this weekend and I will be staying at Black Bay. I read a report about cathing walleyes using Lindy rigs but I was wondering if anybody had any other advice on location and approach. Thanks in advance!
I am also going to Lake Vermillion next week for our annual trip. The only thing I do know is that last year the only way I could catch walleyes was to troll (and my boat trolls fast - 2-3mph)perch color shad raps. I would get fish here and there and then I would lindy rig where I picked up fish and could not catch anything. There is a good post from a couple of days ago you might want to find. Good Luck - let me know if you get any other good info.

Thanks to a Ted Takasaki article right here on Walleye Central I went to #6 and #8 Gimatsu red hooks and it sure improved my fishing. You might read it yourself , sure helps.

I have fished Vermilion for years this time of year and have always had great luck on bottom bouncers and leeches or crawlers around the rock reefs. Hit these in the early morning and evening and you will have great smallie fishing. A #5 crawfish colored Shad Rap works best casting toward the rocks. Good fishing
