Any Good News?

I just got back from a 9 nine day vacation. I spent a week on the beach at Figure Eight Island in North Carolina. Is there any good news about Colorado fishing other than the half dozen lakes that are at or almost at dead pool? I had hoped that the drought might have broken while I was away, but all I had to do was look at my yard yesterday when I got home to know better. I have heard that the Wiper fishing at Cherry Creek is really good right now early in the morning? How about Pueblo, anything going on there?

I did charter a boat for half aday and went fishing for King and Spanish Mackeral. We never did find the bigger Kings but we caught about 40 Spaish Mackeral from 3-6 lbs. It was alot of fun anyway. Also saw a sizeable shark while I was swimming, that was quite unnerving.

I did the Alaska cruise with my wife. we did a half day trip for Salmon at Ketchican. Our boat caught 11 pinks that are being sent by fedex home. Talk about a small world the young charter captain was born in Colorado Springs.

I should be out on Pueblo some time this week.Man it's hot down here.

Hey Art did you see the picture of the 20lb Wiper caught at Pueblo? I bought a copy of the Hunting & Fishing News last night and they had a picture of it. Man what a fish.

It depends on what you want to call good news. As you must know the wiper bite is really hott. The walleye bite is a little slow. Chatfield, Aurora, and Barr lake have a slow bite. You can get into them once in a while only when you find a school but you can get into them. Trout has been slow down here on the plains but up in the mountains if you know where the bite is they are practially jumping in the boat. Well I hope that helps. And if anyone has anything different say so.
