I have heard of some people using chartruese night crawlers for walleye. Has any of you used them and are they any better than regular crawlers? Just wondering if they are worth the extra cost.

My experience has been that they perform equally well as regular crawlers on spinner rigs. I have not tried them in finesse presentations though. I do know that if you step on one, they are a bugger to get the green out of the carpet.

Somedays thats all they want. I like to have 2 dozen green 2 dozen regular, that way you have it covered. Oh yeah dont forget the leeches!

Hey eyemadman, I'll be at Pymatuning all next week. I often overlook leeches when I'm at Kelly's getting my crawlers. Under what conditions do you choose leeches over crawlers at Pymy? Or do you buy 'em just for a variety?

I like to use them when the gills and perch are robbing your crawlers. The nice thing about leeches is that you can catch several fish on one leech. To find out what their hitting, have a crawler on one and a leech on the other, Oh by the way I spoke with a guy thats on Pymie everday and he says they are catching them, but they are out 10-11 hours and really working for them. I also asked if he had seen many limits for their time and his reply was not many. Im sure they are there but this time of year its usually tough. I am teetering between should I fish erie or give pymy a shot? Good Luck

Look up www.nitroworms on the net. I have seen some of them recently and have heard that they produce very well. Sorry I haven't tried them out yet so I am going off of what I have been told.

Well we will find out this weekend. I am going to give them a try and see if they bite on them any better. We fish on Lake Erie, Lorain area so hopefully the wallys are still hungry. Have been getting a few on John-L's with Chartruese worm harness so will see if they add anything to the mix. Thanks for the feedback. Good Fishing to All.
