Well I'm sure most of you have heard OMC has filed Chapter 11. I heard today that "Lund" is a part of that company. Has any one heard this and how does it affect them. I no you can't get anything from OMC they claim there out of business when you call them PERIOD

Lund is a part of Genmar, not OMC. Fred

An Genmar is NOT interested in OMC, according to a quote in Friday's Wall Street Journal from the president of Genmar.

Does this mean I should sell my boat since I have a OMC motor or do you think there will be somebody making I think they call them after market parts? Might be a good time to look a little closer at that sportcraft!!!!!!

Any info thats out there would DIFFENTLY be APPRECIATED!!!

THANKS INADVANCE

Selling your boat now is the worst thing you can do in my opinion. Resale value is at it's lowest right now because of the uncertainty. OMC had 30% of the north american and 25% of the global markets, that is too big for someone not to be interested. As soon as the new owners are in place there will be OMC's sold and consequently the resale value of your unit will climb back up to its rightful place. The only problem right now is the availability of parts, but again I believe that this will be corrected soon.

Thanks Fallsman. I just got a little nervous thinking I could'nt get out on the big pond. Hopefully nothing will break for awhile till we know what's going to happen.

My OMC dealer doesn't seem one bit worried. As for parts, he gets a majority of replacement parts from Lorenze-Jones. I think that's the name. Herb
