Planning a trip to Holcombe Flowage in early July, wondering about camping areas, and what people think of Holcombe Flowage. I have never fished it before.
Thanks for any info Chief Burgess.

Hi Chief,
Holcombe is dark water flourescent jigs and cranks best. Has numbers of walleyes but 10 pounders are rare. Trolling is allowed and the mornings before they generate power at the dam is the best time. Water levels are lowered a foot or so daily.
The south end of the lake has the resorts and heavy recreational traffic. The most popular walleye fishing spot is just west of the hwy 27 bridge on the channel edge. Holcombe is best known for its muskies, numbers and some real hogs.
