Western Erie 9/7/00 report

Thursday, September 07, 2000. Well we finally got out this morning. Fished West of Northwest reef (44/56). Got six nice keepers. The problem was/is lots of grass and alga in the water, I suspect from the strong winds and high wave of the past three days. We spent most of the time cleaning the grass off our dispsy and spoons. It should settle out by tomorrow. We did have a lot of good fish marks all over the “flats” area. Perch fisherman were working North of Niagara reef and seemed to be catching fish. Also a few trollers were working in the middle of all the perch fisherman, did not see anyone catch any eyes, but we just passed through.

Don't think it's the wind or waves. I fished that area last couple of weekends and it seems there is just a lot of grass growing in different areas out there.
