Anyone have any experience or opinions on these rods. Looks good in the catalog.

Tried two of them out last year - they are a nice "family priced" rod with good feel and action. I do like them even though both broke in the same place, about 1" below the tip. BPS replaced them within a week no questions asked.
They probably would hold up better if you don't let a 2 year near them or a vacuum cleaner - I wont even bother explaining that one.

Hey McKoz, do you think at $150 they are a comparable high end rod? Vaccuum cleaners and fishin poles....hmmm.....I'm stumped. LOL

I also broke one last spring about two inches down from the tip, I was snagged and grabbed the rod near the tip and it snapped right in half, no way should it have it broke that easily, BPS replaced it no problem and I used it the rest of the year not a problem. Personally my next rod for that kind of money would be an Avid.

I found it comparable to the 275.00 G.Loomis I have - however there is a quality difference, not $125 worth though. All in all still a good buy combined with the BPS service.
I left the rod in the basement next to my work bench, just set it up with some new Flourocarbon and was ready to tie on just the right jig but couldnt find it. While I was looking for the jig my wife came through with the vacuum cleaner got hold of the line and no more tip!

I live twenty minutes from the IL Bass Pro and am over there touching their stuff all the time. Of course it depends how you plan to use it, but from a sensitivity standpoint - the Johnny Morris XPS rods are one of my least favorite series in the Bass Pro line. They seem well enough made, but just feel dead in terms of sensitivity. There are superior rods for less money available.
Bass Pro has 2000 Bionic Blades on clearance in the store for $35 or $40 - normally $70 or $80. That's a darn good rod for $40. Extremes are on sale too. They've also got the Signature Series jigging 5'9" and rigging 6'3"(?) HM85 for $79.99 - normally $120 I think.
What application were you considering the Johnny Morris rods for?

Thanks Steve, I was planning on using it for casting jigs and cranks. I presently have the HM 54 Extreme from Bass Pro and was looking for an upgrade. My Stradic reel doesnt fit properly on a Loomis and I didnt like the handle of the St. Croix. I may end up having something custom made.
