We fished Kinzua last wed, tru sun. got real cold wed. nite fishing was tough ,no fish till sat. caught some small stripers ,a fair size smallmouth and 1 walleye 19" on sunday.

Just curious as where you fished Kinzua. Pa, NY or Reservation?
I fish Pa waters occasionally never heard of stripers there. Are you sure they aren't white bass? We caught some 15 and 16" there this spring.

We fished both PA and Reservation,no I'm not sure they were stripers ,the guy i was fishing with said they were ,I have never seen a white bass do they have the black stripes like stripers? The ones we caught were about the same size as the ones you caught.

Jeff,
My guess is that it was a white bass. They are marked somewhat like a striper, real agressive and lots of fun to catch. Good eaters too if you get a few.
Besides Kinzua, we catch them on Erie quite often. They are killers! Walleye often hold just below them cleaning up on the bait they kill and miss.

Thanks, i apreciate your knowledge on these fish,as mine is very limited. An the tip about walleye hanging out under them is great ,next time i,ll remember this.
I haven't had much time to fish this summer but hope to get some in this fall.
I really liked Kinzua and plan to go back, i will keep you informed of my results.
