View Full Version : Purple punks get whipped!

SEE YA!

Glad to see the Vikings get whipped like they deserved. Apparently all the media hype in the world and a punk player aren't enough to beat a well balanced, well coached football team which supposedly didn't have a chance in this game.

You can hear the "Purple Blood" running down the Baltimore gutters ...

There is no way now that they can loose another Super Bowl!!
That's FAN-Tans-Tic. You must be so proud of Deny (NO MISPELL)

What the heck does any of this have to do with helping each other out with fishing. It's one thing to criticize another fan's team, but do it on another board such as ESPN. Not here. I can understand a little ribbing now and then, but some of you people get down right mean and than it turns into an angry mob rules mentality.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Your absolutely right! Denny and his the rest of his coaching staff is a complete embarrassment to the NFL! :-( There is no way that he should still be coaching any team! Not even a High School team would win under his ability! :-( If he doesn't get fired now, then something is really dishonest with (Red) and his Ownership!! :-( Not proud to be a Vikes fan anymore!! Go Ravens!! :-) Show the Giants what a REAL team can accomplish!!

Give the Giants credit, i don't think anyone could have beat them on Sunday!

I only enjoyed Carter getting stuffed, that was priceless. I think most knew in the end the defence would fail, as it did, but the off season aquisitions could shore up the vikes. Congrats to the Giants fans, a well coached team always seams to peak at the right time. Go Giants! Long Live the Pack!

It's only a football game guys, fishing is much
more important. I get such a kick out of you packer fans, you talk like you go to the super bowl every year! You lost your last one and it was 30 years between championships. Before the
great Lombardi teams you sucked for 35 years, I
guess 5 titles in 70 years is something to brag
about in Greenbay. But thats good, it means you have only sucked for 65 years.

Yup, Great coaches win championships! So I guess, Brian Billick will win the big one this year. Score prediction: Giants-3 Baltimore-20

How many rings do you have? Have you ever done anything to contribute to a Packers Superbowl win other than drinking beer and cheering like an obnoxious, pompous donkey? Exactly, then pipe down and fish.

Lets see.....Season ticket holder at Lambeau and for Milwaukee games till they moved games away from Milwaukee....Attended Super Bowl in New Orleans in 1996....would you like some more? You, my friend, are an obvious long-suffering Viking's fan who suffers from a severe case of Super Bowless Victory envy. Quit your crying, take the abuse for a day or two, and, shut up and fish!!

During those years the stands were still full. Yes, even when the Pack was 4 - 12 all the games were still sold out. How many open seats would there be at a Viking game when they have a poor year? 12 Championship titles is something to be proud of as an organization no matter when the last one was. I agree with you as far as all the spit-balling. Some of it is funny and some not. Still you can't escape the fact that the Vikes "tradition" seems to be one of falling flat on their face when it comes to the big game. Fred Marshall was a great defensive lineman but what is he most remembered for? Running the wrong way. Point being that history is history and if there was never another football game played the Packers would be remembered for Vince Lombardi, Curly Lambeau, Bart Starr, Brett Favre and 12 Championships. The Viking would be remembered for a crap stadium and blowing the big one again and again and again. Heck, they didn't even show up for this last one.

I for one am glad the football season is about over. Time for a little college hoops and getting ready for spring Walleye.

No, not a Vikings fan. A like football, but how a fan of one team can somehow claim they are better because their team won a Superbowl is beyond me.

Huh,

I re-read my statements and am trying to figure out at which point I said I was better than someone else. Never said it or meant to. I was just giving a good-natured ribbing to some fellow fisheman who happen to be Viking fans. If I've struck a nerve, my apologies to you. Wasn't my intent. Okay, footbal's over for two weeks. Now, SHUT UP AND FISH!!!

Like Charlie Brown on a kick off, the Vikings land flat on their backs, missing the target yet again. was there any doubt that Charlie would miss the ball? No, he's never connected yet!

I believe Jim Marshall is the person you seem to remember and know so much about.

I like Denny Green. He's a pretty good bass fisherman. See you in Sturgeon Bay this May, Denny.

What does the Vikes and a stolen car have in common?"neither have a title"Your hockey team scored more points than your football team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

History lesson

Actually they do have a couple of titles, like NFL Champions look it up.

As a longtime Viking fan, I always hope for the best, but tend to expect the worst. Luckily, that eased the pain somewhat on Sunday.
But with our long history of big-game futility, it will only make it that much sweeter when the Vikes finally do when the big one. (I hope that's in my lifetime.)

Now that the NFC Central is out of the playoffs maybe we can start looking forward to something more likely than the Vikes winning the Superbowl. Something like the Cubs winning the World Series! :)

Funny one...

Ole and Sven die and wake up in #####. The next day the devil stops in to check on them and sees them dressed in parkas, mittens and bomber hats warming themselves around the fire. The devil asks them, "What are you doing? Isn't it hot enough?"

Ole and Sven reply, "Vell, ya know, we're from nordern' Minne-soda, the land of snow and ice and cold. We're just happy for a chance to warm up a little bit, ya know?" The devil decides that these two aren't miserable enough and turns up the heat.

The next morning he stops in again and there they are, still dressed in parkas, hats and mittens. The devil asks them again, "It's awfully hot down here, can't you guys feel that?"

Again, Ole and Sven reply, "Vell, like we told you yesterday, we're from nordern' Minnesoda, the land of snow and ice and cold. We're just happy forva chance to warm up a little bit, ya know?" This gets the devil a little steamed up and he decides to fix the two guys. He cranks the heat up as high as it will go. People are wailing and screaming everywhere.

He stops by the room with the two guys from Minnesoda and finds them in light jackets and hats, grilling Walleye and drinking beer. The devil is astonished, "Everyone down here is in abject misery, and you two seem to be enjoying yourself."

The two Minnesodans reply, "Vell, ya know, we don't get too much warm weather up dere in International Falls, we've just got to have a fish fry when the weathers this nice." The devil is absolutely furious, he can hardly see straight. Finally, he comes up with the answer. The two guys love the heat because they have been cold all their lives. The devil decides to turn all the heat off #####.

The next morning, the temperature is below zero, icicles are hanging everywhere, people are shivering so bad that they are unable to wail, moan and gnash their teeth. The devil smiles and heads for the room with the two Minnesodans. He gets there and finds them back in their parkas, bomber hats, and mittens. They are jumping up and down, cheering, yelling and screaming like mad men. The devil is dumbfounded, "I don't understand!
When I turn up the heat you are happy. Now its freezing cold and you're still happy. What is wrong with you two?"

Ole and Sven look at the devil in surprise, "Vell, don't ya know, if ##### froze over dat must mean da Vikings won da Super Bowl."

It'll take more than ##### freezing over for this to ever happen. . .

By the way. The site as you can see is called "walleyecentral". you think you would know by the name it is for fishing. not for giving other people frm different state's $hit because there team lost. It is to talk about fishing, read articles about fishing. Not about football, huting, or anything else that doesnt even come close to have anything to do about fishing. good luck, and good fishing.

Time for the "Closer" to come in high and tight with some heat!

How do you expect them to get past the Cardinals? Big Mac is healthy again (at least for a while) and they've made a couple trades to put them back in the playoffs. They were the first in the majors to clinch a playoff spot last year and killed the two best pitchers in the majors -- the Mets were lucky to squeak by them.
