I have a lowrance 2400 model from Cabelas, my problem is sometimes it loses contact with the bottom. example is I might be fishing in 10' of water and all at once it will say 100'- 300' for no reason. The only way to fix is to turn off then back on. Has anybody else had this problem and if so what might fix it?? I haven't contacted Lowrance or Cabelas yet. The only other thing is I have the juice connected under my counsel not connected to the battery direct. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!!! TRACEY

I had the same problem with my LMS-350A last year. I took it to a Lowrance dealer and they hooked it up to a testing device. I found out the unit was bad. Transducer was fine. I called Lowrance and they sent me a new unit and I sent mine back to them
I've got an Eagle Optima, and have had about the same problem. Turns out the transducer was bad. Now it's doing it again. NOt sure if it's the transducer again, or not?

I have had a similars problem twice. Both times it was the transducer. Seems like two or three years is the best I can do on lowrance transducers. A lowrance dealer can put your unit on a tester and tell if it is the unit or not. If not it must be the transducer.

I have had the same problem with my X-55A...works good for about 10 minutes and then suddenly reads crazy depths. Lowrance says they don't repair X-55As any longer...so I am in the market for a replacement...see posted topic and messages related to Humminbird 3D Wideview Paramount. You might take the unit out of "AUTO" and see if it works in MANUAL mode with the sensitivity up. The unit could be losing the sonar signal or the computer processor could be fouled up in auto mode...or your unit could just be bad. In the MANUAL mode, you will probably lose the fish ID or fish tracking capability, however.
