OK- Red River Rats, it's time to ROCK!

Walleye action is on the move, so getty up and move-em out!

Past few days have seen great walleye action in the Fargo to Wahpeton section with great action also reported from Fargo North.

Cranks like Black/White #8 Shad Rap's were my best yesterday. I caught 2-30" type Sumo Piggy's yesterday, one at Hickson Dam the other at -AH-? let's say, points South.

Seen several anglers with feeder piggy's and one angler with a solid 7 lb. piggy at Christine Dam. Suckers were the ticket there, big suckers!

I am of to work the Red on creel survey again today and will keep my eye's open to changes and new hot spots.

Remember to practice selective harvest, please release the larger fish as they are not quality table fare and to get 14's remember you need to release lots of 8-10's!

Good Hunting!

Red is Still good and getting better too!

Water is clearing very well as colder temps settle the sediments and increase crankbait effectiveness. Surface temp was 44 on the lower Red yesterday with hot spots up against sunny shorelines that hit 48, these basking pools are holding the Piggy's even if there only 3 ft deep!

Blue /White Shad Raps are hard to find but a hot ticket that the big girls like to punch, black/white, Husky's, Bombers, crawdad fat Raps working well too.

If cranks won't draw hits try slipping three way rigs with suckers rigged with a stinger zig-zaging through deeper pools work's great and covers ground while on the search for new school's. Water is clear so nothing fancy just a FireLine leader (2-4') with a lighter mono drop (1-2') to the weight is all that's needed. Well but good hooks help! Try 4 to 5 o/t circle hook on suckers nose and a good #6 treble as a stinger.

This type rig produced a 31" (C/R) for me last night in 7 ft. of water off a major backwater near a Dam.

If the piggy's of the Canadian Red or Pine Falls won't work this year in your schedule the Rivers here on the MN/ND/SD border might be the piggy pen your looking for closer to home?

Good Hunting!
