Just wondering if anyone has used these. My Grandfathers old tacklebox was loaded with them when I was a kid. Now I see new plastic versions of them and was pondering the thought of using them. Any info is appreciated. Thanks Fishy

They still work, but the new plastic ones I tried last year just had a simple screw holding the hook. Not very sturdy at all.

I have some of my Dad's old Lazy Ike's. They work like a charm but since I only have a couple I worry about losing them. Picked up something similiar, I think they call it a Flat Fish???? We shall see this spring if it's any good.

Ness; Flatfish work good and have been around for years. You will find they are much better at slow speed retrives than the Ikes. The Ikes are not as boyant and dive deeper. A bait that was similar was the OK-Doke. It worked at all speeds from walking it slowly through the lilly pads as a topwater bait to trolling it to 20' deep for Winnebago.

Put a small piece of nightcrawler on the back hook, add the necessary weight to get to the right depth and you have a deadly combo.

Still one of the best Northern lures around. Look around garage sales/flea markets for the wooden ones with brass tips. They have the best action.

I keep a supply in my "guest" tackle box, as they're a great lure to teach kids with. Cast easy, and almost impossible to screw up the retrieve.

Hans, I think we are losing you!! Me thinks you need a whiff of
fresh spring air.

What prompted that snide remark? Maybe YOU need some fresh air?

Sex is like air, it's not important unless you aren't getting any.

I have to ask... Do you make this stuff up yourself or is there a source you're pulling it from??? And before you get huffy, I probably should admit that I rather enjoy reading them. Just wondered who the author is?

Some of it are gems I see here and there (if there's an author, I attribute them), others pops to mind when I am short of air.
