View Full Version : FISHING THE ISLAND AREA
I AM GOING TO BE STAYING ON MIDDLE BASS FOR THE WEEKEND 11/4-11/5 I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY WALLEYE INFORMATION FROM ANYONE THAT HAS BEEN FISHING THE ISLANDS. THANKS BOB
Bob, the walleye central get together will be going on down at Huron. Run over there if weather and time permit, but if I were at Middle Bass, I'd be quite interested in what is happening at the NE corner of the island in the evening and on into the night. Be careful as there are rocks but it should be agreat place for cranks. In the day time the area between Kellys and S. Bass can be good as well as north of Kellys. Also check the reef that is just east of Perry's Monument smack in the center of that little bay. West Reef, Honeycomb, all the points, Starve Island, Buckeye, man there is too many spots to have a chance at tryin them all.
I have not been fishing the area as Huron has been too good to leave, but you should have plenty of fish around. Get out in deeper water during the day with cranks at around 2 mph (Reef Runners are my favorite), and try the stick baits in shallower in the evening or at night. Even try the docks after dark, if any are lighted and attracting shiners. Good luck. With all the attention being given to Huron, you may have a bonanza with very little competition.
I APPRECIATE THE INFO MORE THEN YOU KNOW . THE ISLANDS ARE NOT MY FIRST CHOICE BUT NEED TO HELP A FRIEND WITH HIS NEW HOUSE ON MIDDLE BASS. BEEN READING ALOT ABOUT THE HURON GET TOGETHER SOUNDS LIKE ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT TIME.PERHAPS IF THE LAKE IS SOMEWHAT CALM I MAY BE ABLE TO MAKE THE RUN OVER THAT WAY. I SURE WOULD LIKE TO MEET A FEW OF THE REGULARS ON W/C. I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW PEOPLE TO FISH WITH. IF YOU EVER NEED ANYONE TO FISH NIGHTS WITH YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW I WOULD LOVE TO TRY IT AND NEVER HAVE ATTEMPTED IT ON MY OWN.DONT KNOW IF YOU CHARTER OR JUST FISH IT DOESNT MATTER I WILL PAY MY WAY THANKS AGAIN HOPE YOU MAKE IT TO THE BRAGGING BOARD.BOB
