Wixom and Sanford Lakes(mich)

i'm taking my 9 yr old nephew on his first ice fishing excursion. wixom and sanford lakes are close to where his family live, but i've never fished either one. i'm leaning towards wixom, as i've heard good things. i would appreciate any info on either lake and the name of the best bait shop in the area.

being only nine, i would rather show him show him quantity over quality, as i'm not sure of his attention span. is there a decent perch bite? ideally we'd jig for perch and set tip ups for walleye. thanks again for any replies.

Sib, I would fish near the dam,(west of M-30) not much of a perch lake, but bluegills, crappie bass, eyes and northerns.. The only bait shop that I'm aware of is on M-30 just south of the lake. Good luck.
