Top Walleye Pros Wallock, Olson Join Crestliner Team

Two of the most respected names in the competitive walleye field, Norb
Wallock, Conover, Wisconsin, and Rick Olson, Mina, South Dakota, joined
forces this week with Crestliner Boats. The duo has achieved almost 100
major tournament titles, claimed over $600,000 in total tournament winnings,
and qualified for 25 major Championship fields. Crestliner will promote
their new Tournament Series boats, which cater to the hard core, serious
fishermen via Wallock and Olson. They will be an integral part of future
Crestliner marketing campaigns.

Wallock and Olson are full-time professional anglers. They will be competing
in the prestigious In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail (PWT), as well as
the brand new Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Series. They will travel from North
Dakota to New York fishing for over $4 million in prize money on rivers,
natural lakes, and reservoirs. They each have extensive experience at most
tournament locations and will continue to be outstanding competitors. Most
recently, Wallock won the 2000 PWT Midwest Pro/Am at Saginaw Bay and Olson
won the 2000 In-Fisherman Angler of the Year title.

Wallock and Olson have a nationally syndicated fishing column and appear in
several national publications each season. They can be seen on ESPN and TNN
and heard on In-Fisherman radio. With website exposure, seminars,
sportshows, tournaments, in-store promotions, and media interviews, the team
will be able to showcase the thrill of walleye fishing and attract
additional fishing enthusiasts.

³We are extremely excited to have Norb and Rick join our team,² Jim Antolik,
Vice President Sales and Marketing, said. ³They represent the caliber of
angler who other fishermen emulate. To have them associated with the
Crestliner name is incredible.² The Crestliner Tournament Series 202, which
has been specifically designed for tournament competition, is the boat
selected by Wallock and Olson. Antolik said, ³Norb and Rick represent the
newest additions to the expanding Crestliner Pro-staff Team of top-notch
professional walleye anglers.²

Definitely a coup for Crestliner. Way to go guys (and Erica)! The RCL competition just got tougher.

? - does this mean they went "totally" Crestliner and gave up Tracker or did they switch just for the RCL events? I just saw a new Bass Pro show with Mr. Wallock this weekend in a Tracker.

I've noticed quite a few of the bass guys are running two major boat brands now to stay with their "traditional" sponsors and BASS and then they take on different brands to gain entry in the manufacturer tourney(s) (FLW/Ranger).

It's still shocking to see Rick Clunn or someone with absolutely no logo apparel on at an FLW event. I do applaud him (and others) for his loyalty and think that is about the only ethical way to do it right and not send mixed messages to the angling public.

Either way, wish you the best guys.

We've all seen this commercial from Crestliner directly and indirectly enough, perhaps?
