You mean like the discount prices we get on fishing products, like lures, line, planer boards and such. Yeah there's a few more perks than just a number and insurance. Hope you enjoy your membership over the next year.

Hi Don, I'm member #105, I've belonged since 1999. I agree $110.00 does seem like quite a bit, but the discount program on tackle, electronics, and line alone could easily save you that much.
The NPAA for me gives me an identity with fishing related buisnesses. They can contact the NPAA and see what my bio is, and what I may have to offer them. The industry can look and see O.K. this is NPAA registered member #105, this is what he does, these are the activities he particapates in.
I think the NPAA is trying to raise fishing to a more professional level, and I think that can only help everybody involved in fishing.
You get a newsletter, and so far I've been pretty disappointed with it. It's pretty much just a run down of tournament dates. I hope it improves.
The insurance package is a very good one, but is going to cost you another $550. I wish you could lessen the premium by reducing the amount that your boat is insured for. They cover your boat for up to I believe $35,000 and I know in my case thats about $10,000 more than I need.
These are just my opinions, hope they help you decide one way or another. T

This is member #278, the discounts on tackle are worth the membership. It can help you get your foot in the door when looking for sponsors. It tells people that you are a professional angler.

Don,
There is another way to go. If you can not make use of the insurance and are not interested in the special offers to registered members you can join for $25.00 a year as a associate member. For the 25 bucks you are a member NPAA and recieve the news letter. You are kept up to date with whats going on within the NPAA. I agree with T in that the news letter is in need of improvement. Associate members do not recieve a registered number. Good Luck, - #529.
So since I am looking to upgrade my graph (currently have an X85) and possibly my gps, can you tell me what kind of discounts I might receive by being a registered member?

You might be able to find out some information on this years programs by mailing Charlie at the address below. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Tom. #529
