Looking at doing another trip north this year and wondering what your picks would be..Lake of the Woods/Rainy River area or Leech/Winnibigoshish area..Kind of have it narrowed down to these two areas, but open for suggestions..
Thanks for your help..THINK SPRING!!!!!

take the time to drive just a little farther.
I lived in brainerd for many years and fished a great deal.
If you are looking for walleyes try the area around Atikokan, north of the quetico provincial park. Do some exploring. don't hesitate to fish places that are ignored. You'll be amazed. many many lkes. check Nym and the reservoir they call marmion lake.

i always recommend lake of the woods minnesota side winter or summer.

the only thing that can go wrong is the weather, and that
would apply to all the places you mentioned.

plenty of services available, a generous limit with walleye
and sauger. world class northern and smallmouth fishing close
by.

call the riverbend resort 218-634-3084....the are located
on the rainey river..glen knows the lake as well as anyone.

good luck

buzzer,

I've gone to the Reel'em Inn Lodge on the Canadian side of Lake of the Woods for the past 6 years. I used to go farther North, but found this place and fell in love with it. Call Vic at 218-634-1579 for reservations or email me at jerryr@bratney.com if you want more info. I'm making two trips there this year. Can't wait, wish this ##### ice would melt.

I am not sure what part of Iowa you are from buzzer but Devils Lake is an excellent place for fishing. Keep it in mind.
