I am looking for info (websites or phone numbers) for fishing trips to Canada where you take a bus to the lodge. My father lives in the Chicago area and that would be the ideal location to start the trip. Any information, good or bad, would be appreciated! Thanks. JT

Grassy Narrows Lodge on LOTW ran some a few years ago, with stops in Kenosha and Milwaukee. In addition, there is at least one other LOTW resort that books buses out of Chgo and Mpls, and a couple others a bit farther north of LOTW. Surf the net and you'll find them -- and, they have booths at the shows.
I did it once, and it was a neat way to go. Arrived early in the morning, had breakfast, started fishing. Spent the week at LOTW then boarded the bus and slept while we headed home. Beats driving.

It's a hit and miss deal. If you get on the bus with a bunch of guys who are drinking, strange things happen to the on board toilet(back up), and then the bus fills with strange smells. This makes for a long and unpleasant trip. We have been on several bus trips and most were great, but it only takes one bad one.

Joe T,
Temple Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake has bus trips from Chicago. The price starts at $639 for 6 days. Their website is
http://www.templebay.com/
The resort I work at also has done bus trips in the past, but They start in Rochester, MN and go through the Twin Cities. I don't know for sure if we will still be offering the bus trip, but if you want more info you can email me at solarfisher00@yahoo.com and I will have the owner contact you.
I would highly recommend that you go to some of the sport shows and get info about several of the resorts. The sport shows are one of the only ways you can talk face to face with the owners, and they can answer any questions that you may have.
If you have any more qustions about resorts feel free to post them on this board, or email me. I am always happy to help.

Good point. The trip I took was part of a group. The composition you describe would be a nightmare.

I have had employees take the Temple Lodge trip and they have enjoyed it. They are at various sport shows in the midwest. Typically they are at the all Canadian show in Mpls complete with bus.
