I noticed that Shakespeare has come out with a line counter reel. I was wondering if anybody has tried or used them yet. And if so what did you think. Need to get some new reels just wondering about the Tidewater.
Capt. I will let you know in about 2 weeks, i have a couple coming in, and we will take one apart and see what the insides are made out of, and even may try yanking the thing apart as in severe use. good luck and good fishin.

I'd like to know your humble opinion as well. I purchased two of them to put on my downrigger rods. They APPEAR to be a nice reel...possibly comparable to the magna's but NOT as good as the Daiwa's of course. They ARE priced nice though. Unfortunately, I wont get to test it out till end of march! :(
