A few days ago I was requesting some technical information on G-Loomis rods. After a long thread of interesting posts on G-Loomis rods, I was advised by "ETT" to email the company to get the most accurate answers. This is the result of my questions. This is a quote from Aaron LaMere, a G-Loomis Customer Service. "G-Loomis doesn't actually reveal our graphites modulus ratings...sorry!! The types of guides that we curently use are as follows: (all guides use a G-Loomis modified version of the Fuji concept spacing and sizing) GLX-Titanium SIC, IMX-SIC, GL3-Fuji Alconite, GL2-Hardloy". It didn't surprise me they do not give out the modulus rating. If they wanted anyone to know they would advertise it with their rods. I think they have found the perfect modulus rating for a fishing rod and they don't want to give out that secret to any competitors. I don't blame them.

You sound like a typical Wal-Mart shopper. Sorry I went out of my way to post this. I wont mention it again.

Please do post more. DO not let one person who would not buy one anyway guide your judgement when providing info to others.
Another reason not to let actual numbers out, if they claimed 70 million someone would produce a rod with 71 million and claim it better. Some people would believe it also.

I spoke to Gary Schaefer one of the original employees at G-Loomis and he told me the same thing as the previous post. Too many rod manufacturers would put high quality or high modulus graphite in a 6 inch section of the rod and advertise it as IM8 or 70 million modulus graphite for a fourth of the price. They decided it wasn't worth the effort of trying to educate the consumers about every competitors rod wso they took the attitude of put one in each hand and let the customer decide which one is lighter, more sensetive and stronger.
They build the absolute best rods I have ever fished with. I work at a retail shop and I tell my customers that if they buy a loomis IMX rod and later feel it was not worth the money they can bring it back and exchange it for anything else in the shop. I have never had one returned.
Spring is almost here.
