Most of those city ramps won't open up until about the first of April.I have been looking for that lone fisherman on the river but I haven't seen him yet. But I did see some some trailers down at the Erie Metro Park boat ramp(about 4-5)last Saturday(3-3-01)

There are some die hard hand-liners that has been dodging the 'bergs for about two weeks now. They are catching mixed bags, males and females. They haven't exactly run into them yet, but the temperatures are supposed to hold near or in the 50's for the next several days and that will be the trigger for the females to start moving upstream. I will be wetting my line next weekend and would think that is prime time for trophy of a lifetime. Good luck.

Was at Bottomline Bait and Tackle yesterday and saw some pics of some real hawgs that have been taken recently. The guy staffing the place was somewhat less than informative as to the where's and how's, but considering that Bottomline's downriver, one would assume they were fishing the Trenton area.

Went out of Erie Metro for couple hours in the Trenton channel yesterday (sat),they had few docks in. The water is still cold 35-36 in the channel, we didnt do anything and saw 2 other boats not catching fish with us. Rumor is fish, especially big perch being caught at the banana dike....Should be better in couple weeks on the river....Bob
