: Where is Pymatuning?

Where is Pymatuning, and why is it so special? It seems like there are an enormous number of posts about it.

it is located on the ohio pa border about 30 min south of erie pa there are a large number of eyes in the lake but size averages 16 or 17 inches but some hogs are there u jus gotta find em email me if u need more details good luck and tight lines

ron, its a walleye factory, tons of fish its a limited hp lake 9.9 or less and walleye are open all year, it also has good crappie fishing, when the eyes are bitin you can have a blast, to get there off of interstate 79 i take exit 35 which is rt 285 go west if you stay on 285 west it takes you right to the lake,

Thanks guys, it sounds like a great place. I live in Arkansas and vacation in Minnesota, so I guess you're going to have all those walleyes to yourself.

Pymatuning Lake Is rated The best Inland Walleye lake In the State Of Ohio & Pennsyalvania It is stocked every year with a average of 7-8 million Walleye finger links per year and some times more good fishing lake AKA Walleye Hitman

If you're a member, check out the current North American Fisherman magazine. It has an article on Pymatuning where it also praised pymie for being a good bass lake. If only it didn't take all day to get around on the lake!

The most special thing about Pymatuning is that it's the only place in PA that's legal to catch Walleye this time of year. That's only 'cause it's partly in Ohio and there's no closed season in Ohio. If you could legally fish for walleyes in the other lakes, you wouldn't hear about Pymie so much.
