I do alot of evening shore fishing for eyes below dams, I like a long 7+ foot rod with a real sensative tip as the fish I catch are really light biters. Right now I use a Berkely Gary Roach that has worked very well for me, but I want to try an Avid St Croix rod. Any suggestions?

In the Avid series there is the AS70MLF 4-10lb. test 1/8-3/8oz. fast actin rod for around $160.00, nice stick. My rod of choice, for the situation you described is the Legend Elite ES70MLFCS same 4-10 & 1/8-3/8. But,WOW..This is the lightest, fastest, most deadly piece of fishing equipment in my arsenol, for casting as you described..Only problem $300.00. My wife would not understand,"You spent $300.00 for a fishing pole",followed by the silent treatment.....I didn't tell her....If she ever gets into fishing & starts figuring the prices of my GLX rods & other high end toys, I may be making a trip to the florist & the jewlery store in the same day...<><...<><...<>< Only DEAD FISH go with the flow:):):)

Hey, thanks jig for the info! I am takeing your advise with the legend elite. I talked to local rod builder and get this I can have the 7 ft ES70MLFCS 4-10 made for $140.00. Isn't that crazy! In Cabelas they want 300. I don't get the titanium guides but Fuji hardloy non the less. And the same size rod in the Avid is $105. So of course I ordered the Elite. Thanks again, go fish!
