Any news on how the netting went this year at Pueblo? Hear of any big fish being netted? When will the netting end? I'm thinking of heading down there this weekend.

They ended netting Sunday at Pueblo. They netted quite a few nice fish with the biggest being around 15 lbs. All the fish they netted have been tagged. If you catch one that is tagged and keep it, please send the tag\info to the DOW. It's part of there research on the walleye population.

At the CWA Central meeting last night the word was that all netting operations were ending early as the quota of eggs was being filled quickly. Large fish were reported for Pueblo, Chatfield, and of course, Cherry Cr. My understanding was that the ****s would be open for fishing as soon as the nets were pulled (again, my understanding was all nets would be pulled before this weekend).

I just talked to "Lee" at the DOW office in Denver and he said that the regulation concerning the dams at those reservoirs stands till April 15. He said that regardless of the netting being done, the regulation will stand to protect walleyes.
Wear camo and have at least a 200 hp. motor on your boat if you are going to fish the dams before April 15 between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.

THE NETTING ENDED ON PUEBLO SUNDAY. WE WORKED WITH THE HOLD OVERS THRU WED. WE ENDED UP WITH 58,000,000 EGGS FROM PUEBLO. LOTS OF LARGE FISH. SHOULD BE A GREAT YEAR. SEEMS TO BE SOME CONFUSION ON OPENING THE DAMS FOR FISHING. THE SIGNS HAVE BEEN REMOVED AT PUEBLO AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS OK TO FISH THE DAM. SOME BODY NEEDS TO CLARIFY THIS BEFORE SOME ONE GETS A TICKET.
