recommendation for a few small mouth lures. never fished for small mouth any help appreciated please give size,color and manufacture . thanks ron ps. i know this is a walleye board but i am sure you all fish for sm also. thanks again

I've never fished Lake of the Woods, but I have never found a Smallmouth that didn't love a Berkley tube jig in the SMOKE color. THEY LOVE'EM!
We fished Lake of The Woods late last June and the smallies were slamming Kalin tails 3" long. The best color we found was summer craw. Tube baits are also very effective and the smoke color works well. Try a variety until you find the one they prefer. Most of the time crawdad colors are best. Find rock piles off points and shallow reefs. If you can afford to spend a couple hundred bucks you can find a good smallie guide and save yourself some time. It's worth the money if you haven't fished this water before. We're going the first week of July.
