Lake WI any news?

Fishing on Lake WI this weekend. I heard the ice left a week or so ago. How is the fishing?

I was there two weeks ago and the lake its self was still covered. there was even a guy still ice fishing. I have seen a news report that the ferry is running now. That wasnt possible two weeks ago. The guy at bridgebait said he thought the ice would be gone in a week ( last weekend ). We fished up in the "narrows" and by the rock bluff just up stream from the narrows. we did pretty well. lots of small ones but easily could have limited out. The early evening bite seems best. Watch out for the shallow water. We also fished below the Prairie Du Sac dam. Many small fish but only a few "keepers". Going back this weekend. Good luck

River is up about 4 feet from last weekend. Watch your motor and your speed, there is alot of stuff coming down the river right now.

I was up there Good Friday and Saturday and the fishing was anything but good. I didn't see a single person cathc a fish. Not even a small one. The current is roaring and the water is very high on the lake. I figured to drag 3-ways in the narrows, but I couldn't keep on bottom with the current.

I seriously think we are going to miss the whole run in the upper Lake Wisconsin area. My guess is that the pigs have long headed to the Dells.

You are probably right. For once the weather wasn't brutal in mid April, the ice didn't leave early (perfect timing in my mind) and then the whole thing gets screwed up because of high water and an unbelievable current. Guess thats' fishing.
