How many of you guys like myself have a couple of hundred crank baits or more and think that you need to have everyone of them in the boat? What a pain! I have all of mine in Plano boxes and they are a mess. No way to put more then one in a compartment without them getting all tangled up and If gave all of them there own compartment I would have to trade the boat in on about a 30 footer to make room for the plano boxes. What do all you guys do with your crank baits???

I keep mine in advanced angler bags by cabelas, i don't take them out of their boxs they come in. When i get done with each one i put them back where they belong, in the boxs they came in hope this helps.
good luck

Check out bbbaitbox.com. The only way to store crankbaits and harnesses. Many different models for the various size and number of baits you own. The boxes are completely tangle free and are designed so you can store more than one per slot, so you can double up for what ever reason. The boxes even float when fully loaded. The best product going. They can be ordered direct or through Walleye Central. Tom

B and B Bait boxes are the only way to carry and store cranks, they are boxes with 96 indivdual slots, never a tangle or a mess. I have three of them and I can say these boxes are first rate, and top quality. Capt. doug schriber from www.hot jigs.com is where I bought mine if your interested. He is a guide on little bay denoc, and he reps. them. They arnt cheap but quality never is. Look to pay around 70.00 for the 96 compartment box, buy one and you wont be sorry. I to used to have my cranks in a plano box, if you pick one up nine more come with it, screw that, also these boxes keep them apart so your hooks arnt getting dull and the finish on your six dollar crank isnt getting scratched. Try them you will like them.

I checked out the B&B website and they look like the ansewer. Question. The model 485 looks like it would fit in my hard side Plano the stores 3700 series boxes on edge. If the B&B are stored on edge do the cranks stay in place or will they come loose and be a mess? I notice that it looks like the handles on some of the models are such that when you carry them they are on edge.

take a look at the woodstream gasket boxes, waterproof for 3 years or so, holds about 25-30 "average" crankbaits,$8.00, use hook bonnets to keep untangled & hooks sharp--make sure to hang the crankbait to dry on a sidewall before you put on bonnet and store, throw in a desicant bag into each of your boxes, other than having alot of bonnets laying about the boat after a day on the water, it works well. i like the woodstream because of the stronger hinge system than the others-seem to be a little toughter too.

I have always liked the Plano boxes that you describe as taking up too much room. I too have hundreds of cranks but 2 clip boxes will give me more than enough cranks for an individual trip. Keep a couple empty boxes on hand and load them just before you leave based upon what you will need for that specific trip and leave the rest at home. Do a couple boundary waters trips or fly-ins and you will learn quickly what you really need vs. what you think you need.

I use the plano boxes. I have one box for each size lure and sort the bins by color. Ex... I have one box for my #9 shad raps and each bin hold 4 lures. One bin in for blue, one for craw, one for shad, etc.... It is not much of a problem untangling 4 lures when they are sorted.

Just picked up my first B&B Box this past Saturday at the Chicago show. Spent Sunday unloading my 3700 boxes and have pretty well filled up a 7" deep unit -- deep enough for the big deep diving Reef Runners and Thundersticks.

The lid on the B&B holds the hooks against the grid so the lures don't move around. Have turned it on its side and even upside down and the lures are just where I put them. They said it would not be a problem at the show, and they were right.

Now if I can just get some open water and temps near 50 degrees!
