Fished out of South Bass for the past week. Smoking Big fish in 34 -36 ft dragging Night crawler rigs on bottom bouncers straight back and off boards. Biggest for my boat was 10.5 but numerous nines and eights. Had several big fish on we couldnt move and they came off after thumping for a while. Every one said the same thing, all had big fish they couldnt raise. There were about 40 Boats on the Island from South Dakota and these guys know their stuff and were very helpful to anyone who asked. Only problem was getting off the island saturday. Every one in line and it took me 2 hours to get on the ferry.Best are was between Nw corners of Kellys to the canadian border. Some folks said some of the fish we caught has a maple leaf on their tail and wer saying ( EH!!!!!!!) but I cant say anything about that till the statute of limitations is over.
