Just called the hatchery in constantia, NY. They said the egg take was completed on the 27th of april and the eggs are hatching. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on the spawn progression, and the inevitible move back to shallow water in the main lake.

Hi Kevin,
This is just my opinon of coarse but I think the shallow water jig bit will be great on Saturday. The water level is a little high, the fish are just coming out of the creeks and should be lingering in the shallows as long as the water remains cool. If you plan to go out Friday night that should be good too for casting or long line trolling cranks over the shallow feeding flats. Even though everybody is complaining about the walleye population in the lake being way down I think there will be a lot of fish caught this weekend. Just my $.2 worth.
take care,
scott
