I just picked up 3 of the Cabela's Fish Eagle II rods (2 baitcast & 1 spin) from the Sidney store. I just got them 10 days ago and haven't had a chance to fish with them yet. They are extremely lightweight, with a fast tip, but with the backbone for hooksets that I'm looking for. Others probably have real fishing experience with them, but they sure seemed like the right weight/strength combo to me. Seemed like an excellent price when compared with rods I thought comparable but which were $140 and up compared to the $79.99 for the Fish Eagle II. As with any rod, it's difficult to know unless you actually feel the rod, heft it, flex it, etc. That's why I made the 3 hour drive up there. Good luck.

I have a half dozen of the fish eagle II rods. I think they are a very good value and they fish fine. Last year I upgraded my favorite jig rod to the XML series. Believe that rod is lighter and more sensitive.
About to make another set up to a St. Croix. For the money, I do not believe you can go wrong with the fish eagle II's.
