Heading up to Mille Lacs this weekend. Would appreciate any fishing reports on the east or south areas. I am taking a few guys who haven't been up there before and I would like to get them into some fish. Thanks

Was out on Outer 3 mile reef on Monday and caught plenty
of slot and over slot fish. The very north tip of the reef
is where I was and had consistent action both rigging and slip bobbers. Might of been considerably better with a little breeze or overcast which there was none of on Monday. Was also out to the mud later on and caught some nicer size fish there. I did see a small indication of a bug hatch out there. Alot of floating
bugs?

Good luck, Post how you do.

I would have to agree. Any of the rock reefs close to shore have produced fish in the 8-18 foot range. If the wind is blowing move closer to 8'. Sunday there was decent hatch. I would guess that the mud will be heating up this week with the warm weather. If you can find some of the first fish on the mud you should be in for some fun.

Good luck and let us know.

Slots limits are changing starting June 5th. Only fish between 16-18" can be kept. The rule of keeping one over 28" is out to. No trophy fish can be kept. This was done because of the excellent fishing this month. Half the quota has already been met 1 month into the season.
