Monday, June 04, 2001. Started off this morning around Rattlesnake Island, then moved north to N.W. Reef. Fish were few, did manage to pick up 4 or 5. Started trolling west toward West Sister and around 1/2 of the way there, we started hitting good marks. Worked that area over and picked up the remaining for our limits by 2:00 pm. Fish were nice, again 18 to 25 inches with a lot of throwbacks and a pickup truck full of white bass (boy am I sick of white bass). We use all dipsy’s with the “krocodile” spoons in fire tiger and a solid brass with a red strip down one edge. I think the brass (gold) color is the one to go with. Used both ˝ and 5/8 oz and it did not seem to make any difference.

We fished about 3 miles west of Rattlesnake Saturday afternoon and picked up only 5 fish in about 5 hours.I think if the weather gets better the fish may turn on.There are a lot of hungry fish out there. We will be going up Thursday and try the same area unless we get a better report.I heard a lot of fish were being caught west of west sister but, it's a 25 mile run.
Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!

We fished the pack west of west sister. Caught 14 by 1:00 but was no where near our limit since we had 6 people on the boat.
I'd be interested to know how many people and the number of rods you had on your boat.
I want people to know the true fishing situation.
It gets frustating out there when people bend the truth.
Is Bill Clinton a fisherman?

We fished north of West Sister on Saturday trolling spoons with dipseyes and caught a 4 person limit. Only one other boat by us. All the spoons were with copper backs. We tried some old salmon spoons with copper and gold and they produced too. I always do better when we fish away from the packs by West Sister and seem to do well. Saturday was a great day. Sunday we drifted between Huron and vermillion late in the afternoon and picked up 15 more on weapons with copper blades off of bottom bouncers. Now next time out we will probably get skunked.

You may need to re read the original post he was no where near your area west of west sister , he was to east of sister approx. 6 miles or so and I'm sure he was not in the pack. You may find it better fishing to stay out of the pack and search open water for the many small schools of fish roaming the western basin right now

LB, Why do you question a report posted on here for our benefit? He (Denied) doesn't have to post this information for us to read and learn from. Because you were no where near your limit does that mean that no one else could possibly have thier limit? Are you that good of a fisherman, or only think that you are?
I would suggest that you check out Denied's website and view the information that he shares freely, before you question the truthfulness of his or anyone elses fishing report.
respectfully,

LB.....You are way out of line. There may be some postings on here once in a while that stretch the truth, but you won't see any like that from Denied. Go to his website and do some reading. You might learn something.

LB, we picked up a 3-man limit of 18 in 2 hours Sat. west of West Sister. Understand it was tougher Sunday, but that's why they call it fishing instead of catching. Dean was nowhere near your area, he was 5 or 6 miles east of W. Sister, and he has no reason to lie or stretch the truth. The truth is fishing has been a lot better this year as compared to last year, but you can't expect to catch your limit everytime you go out on the lake.

There are several things to keep in mind when reading anybody's report on the success that an individual may , or may not have had on any outing. First of all not every guy who walleye fishes has the same ability to catch these very light hitting, finicky fish. While boat A is slammin' fish, after fish, boat B is using a similar set up trolling with similar baits and catching few if any fish. On the other hand I have experienced trips where I have slammed fish, after fish casting, while the guy's fishing in my boat are throwing the same bait, at the same count and drawing blanks, and vise versa. If Joe Angler had a good day while Billy Backlash got skunked doesn't mean Joe's telling a story. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt, believe him if you want too, and if you don't, keep your negative posts to yourself. Everybody who has spent time in great outdoors knows, some day's the bear gets you.
Good Fishin'

I personally find the info on Denied's website to be the most helpful of any you can find on the web. He has put my father and I on fish many times with the information he shares. Keep up the good work Denied!
Scrib (a dreaded weekender)
We fished SUnday & worked hard all day to get only 4 fish...all were nice, one being a Fish Ohio (28 1/2") the others 24,25, & 22 inchers...we fished the wayward side of Kelly's because the wind was strong...did not see many people dipping nets. We were drifting as opposed to trolling...using harnesses & mayfly rigs...green seemed to be best...they were hitting light except the big one who about knocked the rod out of my hand...nothing better than catching a fish Ohio on six lb test! Only caught 1 sheepshead but did run into some white bass. When the wind blows, you have to go to plan B sometimes. keep the comments coming DENIED...I enjoy your site...where do you dock...we're out of Gem beach. heading North this weekend to catch some "pickeral" (as the Canadians like to call walleye)...fishing aclear water deep lake...you thought catching walleye in Erie was tough...try fishing in a deep clear Canadian lake...we'll be fishing in the evening/night...using lindy rigs & trolling rapalas...anyone else have any tips for clear lake Canadian walleyes...Harnesses & Erie dearies have not seemed to work & I've never had much luck trolling the open water...rock ledges & shallows seem to produce more...tight lines to all!
