Looking for first hand knowledge and opinions of this lake. It is just over 1200 acres. How's the bass, northern, walleye fishing? Is the water clean and good for swimming?
Thank you for any information,

I've fished the Lions Club Tournament in July the last couple of years and have learned a little about it. My impressions are that it is one fun lake to fish. It is such a deep lake that it takes a while for it to warm up, so swimming in June might be a little cool. There doesn't seem to be an excessive amount of water skiers on it either.
The DNR web site updated the lake survey last year. In it they state that they netted the most walleyes since they began netting it. I know that in all my pre-fishing and tournament days on the lake I've only caught one walleye that was less than 16 inches. There are a lot of nice fish in there. Of course, they can be very tough to catch. I'd say 2/3 of the tournament entries don't weight a walleye.
There seems to be a lot of bass in the lake, although I can't fish them very well. Lots of crappies and sunfish.
I like the lake and look forward to the tournament.
