I ahve a "Lawrence Globalmap 100". Had no problem with it till lately, whenever I'm a trolling speed it does not lock on to way points any more. It worked fine untill now. At higher speed it works just fine also. I went and bought another one and it seems to have the same problems. Is there anything that got changed with the satelites or is there anything i should be aware of.

Appreciate the info.

try to reinitate your GPS. If you picked the wrong zone it will do that.

If your update distance setting got changed (higher), it can also cause the unit to stop tracking when moving slowly.

Try turning the gain on your fish finder down.

A common problem with a simple solution.

Before you had your problem, I expect that the Pinning function was disabled on your unit. Somewhere along the line, you have turned the Pinning function back on.

Go to your maintenance manual, and look up the procedure to disable the Pinning function. I believe that you simply hit menu, go to gps setup, and go to the field about Pinning, and deselect this function.

You will have good lock and you will be fine.

The thing that happens with pinning, is that if your movements are quite slow, and or of small duration, the unit locks, so that it does no updates. This was actually nice, before the SNA function was turned off, because, otherwise, you might see some very large jumps in either postion and or speed, as the SNA system was turned off and on.

Now that the sna is off all the time, by turning off the pinning function - you will have good lock and good updates on your unit.

Take care
