Don't let this happen to you...we recently visited Put In Bay, and spent a few quiet hours at the state park docks.Like many other harbors the clean water provides a bumper crop of water grass. The boat seemed to pass through it ok, so I didn't pay any attention to it.About 1/2 mile out of the harbor,on the way home, I notced the temp guage rising rapidly...but before I could get it shut down, the engine stalled from overheating...!When I got to the back of the boat there was a big wad of weeds just releasing from the outdrive.......OUCH...!We dropped the kicker, and limped towards home with the cowling open.We were lucky to have the other motor, decent weather, and having caught it in time that the motor seems to be ok after a couple of hours of cooling...! Whew...!The weeds probably wrapped over the intake, but didn't impead the prop...From now on, I will check the drive unit after every sighting of weeds..
