I'm heading to Mille Lacs on Tuesday afternoon. I know the mud has been producing latley. Is the mud bite still on? I have also been hearing about the gravel, whats up there? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I fished the gravel on the south end saturday morning for a couple hours and caught 4 between 16"&18" with a total of I think 12 or 13 some smaller and some bigger. Fished the boot flat in the late afternoon and caught 7 between 20 and 24" and 1 in the slot.

Hey, I was up on Saturday, fishing was OK but not as good as I heard it was on Friday. We started out on 5 mile gravel and saw a few fish caught but there were about 30 or more boats so I would expect to see some fish caught, we only caught 2 fish there in about an hour. We then moved to the seven mile mud. I saw one boat doing really well, they were using spinners with 10-12 foot leaders. I was using the same thing and we caught about 5 fish in two hours. It was very very windy in the afternoon, I would estimate 4 footers if not some 5's. We hit three or four flats and only saw about 4 boats total, and it was prime time in the evening. I think the reason for the lack of boats was the rough water because the landing was packed. I think a little front came through Friday night and screwed the fishing up some for Saturday. On Friday some friends of mine caught over 20 fish each and left before primetime.
Good Luck,

Fished the mud Sat from about 7:30 until about 4:30 wih the wife and kid.Caught 28 with 6 in the slot range.Best bait seemed to be crawlers on an 8-9 foot leader , leeches were a pretty close 2nd though .Also caught some on cranks.Overall a pretty good bite.If you aren't seeing them on your electronics keep moving until you do.
Good luck.
