Skeeter where did you fish. We went out Sunday, tried 35' off of Beaver, the water works, then finally the sand bar in the pack of boats at the end of the day. We got skunked.
skeeter, we went there on saterday, and started in the 35-37 foot range off of beaver~several drum no eyes~ then we hit the bar. three of us (well actualy only two, the captian got skunked) managed 6 eyes, but only one was a keeper and 5 were the dinks. three were taken on a green & yellow harness off a bouncer, and two were on a silver casting harness, one on firetiger harness. a friend fishing the sand bar managed a fish ohio and a dink on a gold erie derie.

Fished Sun from 8:00-1:00 Between two of us, we caught 8 walleye on 1 once gold dearies with a fast retrieve fishing the 37, 12 line. We started at 35 and only caught one but then we moved to 37 (north of the pack) and caught 7 more. 6 of the fish were betweeen 18-22 with two at around 25 in. There was a really nice chop but it still took a steady retrieve to get them to hit.

We fished 8 Miles N-NW of Lorain BRG 336 out of harbor. Don't have GPS #s handy - handheld w/waypoint is on the boat. Marked it where we caught the fish OH. We were actually NE of the large pack in 43' of water. Caught most on John-L perch pattern w/floating worm harness. Also caught a couple on purple erie dearie. Hope this helps. If I get over to the boat I'll get the numbers.

We had a great day off Lorain Sunday. Three Guys limited out using Crawler harnesses. Color didn't matter. Baitfish were comming to the surface all over the place. One time I was bringing in the board and the bait fish were jumping out of the water in front of the board. If I remember correctly the numbers were 35 top 13 bottom. My only question is were are the larger fish we were catching last year? The majority of the fish are in the 15 to 17 inch range, with maybe 5-8 between 20 and 25 inches. Last year I bet the average fish was 22 to 23 inches. Is anyone catching larger fish on a more consistent basis? Does a guy have to fish at night to catch the hogs?

Capt. Green, I fished the same general area you did on Saturday. We caught 20 fish, and not a single one was over 18 inches. I have only caught one or two fish near five lbs in a month. The fish from the 1999 class are very aggressive, and I think the bigger fish just aren't around the sandbar like the last three or four years.
