Fished Fairport Sat. North west from harbor 8 miles. Lots of marks 60 to 70 ft. 6 eyes bigest 5lbs others 14 to 18". returned 4 other fish under 14". One trout 5lbs..The fish came slow trolling (1. 2 to 1.8 mph ) with worm harneses, big dipesys on 3 back 120 and on the inside turn. Seems like you had to drop the bait in front of their faces to get then to bite.

Fishing was about the same for me in the same area except we had the best luck on purple and green scorpion silver back (can't remember the name) spoon and speeds of 2.2-2.5, 100 feet on deepest fish seeker setting. That spoon and a fishseeker are still out there. We lost it and then snagged it later on another pass and then lost it again before we could get it back in the boat. It was the only one we had and the fish slowed down after that.
Biggest was 23 the smallest 16 and most in 16-18 range. Lots of sheephead taking steroids and white bass were caught also. These 2-3 year old fish seem to have taken over the whole lake.
Fairport is a nice relaxing area to fish, not too busy and the areas that are busy seem to be fisherman friendly with no crowding, too bad the fish weren't a little more cooperative. This is my 1st year trying that area and I really enjoy it there, but if you want to stay the night you better have reservations somewhere cause we could not find a room "anywhere". Wound up cutting our trip short and coming home.

I had a list from the FHRRA tourney last month, but everything was booked up on short notice. Should have made earlier plans I quess! Thanks for the offer.
Are you and Reel Lucky fishing the USFA tourney this weekend? I'm going to give it a shot, and will probably prefish Friday if I can find someone to tag along and a room Friday night.

Yep, Reel Lucky and I are planning to fish the tourney. We will be out there on Friday pre-fishing..
We will probably end up at the Mentor Hooters afterwards. Maybe we can all get together for a beer...
