Fished Oahe Friday July 20 at Little Bend. Caught 8 walleye. They ran from 12 to 17 inches. Only kept five fish. Saturday it was very windy, didn't fish Little bend area. Went down to Spring Creek and fished. Only caught two walleye about 14 inches long.
Saturday afternoon drove down to Fort Thompson. Fished their Sunday. Only Fished for 3 hours caught 10 walleye and kept 5. Fish were 12 to 15 inches long.

Just a reminder for anyone that might take home over their limit, on the way back on Sunday to Sioux Falls we got stopped by the Game Warden on Interstate 90 about 4:30pm. They were doing a game check. First time I have had that happen. Remember to follow the laws.

A couple of things I have a question with were you fishing with bait I hear that area is hot? Also how did you get past the wardens ? 5 then 2 on Oahe count toward your possession on Ft. Thompson where you got 5 you are 4 over unless you had a buddy who didn't have a clue either. Sorry I'm headed there and expect a better trip.

My dad and me were fishing. We had bait Crawlers and Leeches. Everyone we talked to at the boat landing had 5 to 8 walleyes. I don't know where the hot bite is at. Didn't see many fish caught. Maybe it is better over at Bush's Landing.

My Dad and I put in last Thursday at Bushs and were done by 11:30 biggest was 23" and we caught all of our slot fish. On Friday we again went back to Bushs with stong winds it took us until 2;30 but we managed to catch our limit biggest being 17". All were caught using a floating phelps jig and half crawler behind a 1 0unce bottom bouncer drifting the flats near splits creek area.

Good luck SD/Will

I fished out of Bush Landing on Monday. We also were
wondering where the hot bite was. We ended up with 8 fish
for two guys. The whole area seemed slow. Most boats were
running and gunning. Few people stayed put as you could
see boats running all over. This usually means they are
looking for fish. On Tuesday we went back up North and caught
15 south of Mobridge and a bonus 12 lb. northern.
Had a good trip and you know it sure beats working.

Best of Luck

At least I wasn't the only one that had slow fishing on Oahe. Everyone we talked had 5 to 8 keepers per boat.
