Was wondering which would be better this weekend for big fish we're leaning towards lorain since it's a little closer to home & seen a few good reports. We haven't seen much about Fairport does someone have any recent reports from there? WE'd like to run some dipsies ,but have only used the smaller onesw/ 4 rods. we have another persn going this time so we can use 6 rods. Can we we run them off the forward rodholders on the 3 setting,2nd rod in the next holder towards the back on a 2 setting etc. or can you only run them straight out the back? We'd appreciate any info you can give! GOOD LUCK & GOOD FISHING !!! Jonboat

Limited out of Lorain on Sunday GPS #32-16
all fish caught at 38/39' on large ProKing or Stinger spoons. Your settings on dipseys would be 3 1/2 then 2 then 0. Good luck channel 79 out of Vermillion/Lorain
Less Stress,
Sorry to bother you but are those GPS #'s 41.32.000 by 82.16.000?

Yes they are. You may also want to try north of Vermilion 32 N 21-22 W. Last three trips out were great with limits on all. Spoons off of jet divers, with off-shore boards.
Good luck...

Trick to pick up a little room. Longline 2 poles off the back, then add big bobbers to get them out another 100-150 feet. You will catch more and bigger fish with them away from the boat. By letting on bobbered line out 50 foot more than the other, you can make sharp turns. Bobbers will go over or under each other without tangling. Also your not in anyones way, that is running dipseys. You might want to try an offshore planer board sometime. Once you get use to using them, I don't think you will go back to dipseys. Boards will require using snap on weights, deep six divers, etc. Have fun fishing.

Very interesting technique. What type of bobber do you use, and how is it attached. Do you have any problem with hook sets being this far out. Thanks for the information.
