View Full Version : what happened to all the pymatuning reports?
just wondering, did it die until fall? did everybody just stop fishing there? came across the causeway sunday at about 4.30pm there wasn,t much traffic so i stopped for a few seconds to take a good look, i saw a grand total of 3 boats for as far as i could see, 2 boats way down on the south end and 1 boat on the north end up around tuttle beach, went across the friday before at about 7.00pm and saw maybe 8 boats total, is the lake done for now? wasssssssssssssssssssssssssup, just curious.

Tom, there are tons of fish waiting to be caught, its just that when the " so called easy picking days are over, a lot of anglers dont want to change techniques ". LCL is catching nice fish on a daily basis. I too at one time thought after a certain date/water temp that it was next too impossible to boat an eye until I tried LCL's system. Now rememeber you still must find the active fish to be succesful. There are other options if you choose not to use leadcore, ie: night trolling ( I use mono at night )can be awesome, I have taken some very respectable eyes ( lake erie size )at night. Walleyes as you know dont always go by the rules, ex. Last August around this time I took a Great Uncle up to Pymie we had 2 boats, I headed to the deeper water while he stayed in the shallow water ( he had the family with him ). To make a long story short they came in with 24 keepers on a hot blistering day, I was skunked, and the warden was just as amazed as I was, he measured about half of them and was on his way. I know I will never live that day down, being that I told them it would be hard to catch 1 keeper.

The water temp. on my new Rathion fish finder reads 85 degrees and if your looking to catch them the traditional ways such as a jig and minnow combo, I have found that they start to come back around the end of September. In October and November I have done well on vibi's and sonars. If you can master the lead core system, you will catch fish! I still really do not know what I am doing. The lake turned over last week with the hot weather fishing slowed to a crawl. The past 3 days have been fantastic, have limited all 3 days fishing early in the morning off the lake by 9 a.m.trolling hot&tots in 16 feet of water. Most guys think it's over for this year but it's not, that's why you don't see many boats, come out and have some fun. LCL
