Beckmans has a walleye net that is 11' long I believe it is called the magnum. I think that is the longest one out there. I have been trying to find one longer but have not yet. I did see one time someone had one that was 14' long but I cannot find the company back. If anyone knows let me know also.

I think if you call Beckman they will make you a longer handle.

When I was a little tike my parents dropped me off at the local fishing barge. It was an old coal barge that was retired and the city put it on the river for people to fish off of. I remember that the older fishermen had all manufactured long handles to net fish with. the barge was at least 8' high. Most used some sort of broom handle.

Mengo (DotLine Products) has a good lightweight net with three different locations on the handle where you can set the length. I would guess mine, fully extended, goes to about 10 feet.

Don't know what it costs, as it was a fish contest prize.

shorty,
I believe that Frabill makes a walleye net that is about 12 feet long. It has a telliscoping handle that reaches way out there. After viewing their site I could not find it but it may be a new product. Check out their site and e-mail them for more info. You could also find out a lot of info by visiting a good tackle shop in your area.

I have one of their shorter handled nets and the only thing that I don't like about it is that the mesh size is a little too big. Once in a while a smaller fish's head will go through it. Becouse I do a lot of single hook fishing (basic rigging) I do not like to lift the fish into the boat. Gut hooked fish will have a tendancy to bleed and eventually die.

Beckman also makes a fine landing net. I believe that the mesh size on their nets is a little smaller. One other note on mesh size is that the smaller sized mesh is a little harder to move through the water. Beckman does make a 81/2 foot handle on their Pro Walleye net. Try this beckman site.

Good Luck. TM

I recently heard about a net that actually has a co2 charge and shoots the net out of a small canister and nets the walleye from out to 75 feet away. It will also easily shoot up to 20 feet beneath the water. All you have to do is hook one and point the canister towards the end of your line and whammo! Then just pull the rope in and the walleye is yours.
